In order to conduct research on atmospheric science, the structure of cloud and the quantity and how are affected natural and artificial aerosol on precipitation is required a set of equipment that has been gathered in a place called the Cloud Physics Lab. The purpose of such experiments is to find out the micro-physics of clouds and how the human beings can influence the structure. The current laboratory of the center as the only cloud of the country’s physics lab consists of two cloud aerosol chambers. After the production of aerosol particles (solid or liquid suspended particles) in the aerosol chamber and injection into the cloud produced in the cloud chamber, it is possible to observe and measure the microphysical and chemical changes created in the cloud.
The measurement process is carried out with the help of various devices and instruments, and each laboratory is equipped according to the goals and requirements of the work. In addition to the equipment, the cloud and aerosol chambers have special sensors for controlling the physical parameters. Fortunately, now the center has been able to successfully complete the Phase 1 of the equipment of the laboratory with the financial assistance of the Vice- Presidency for Science and Technology.
The next step for upgrading the lab, design and manufacture, or purchase a particle size analyzer of the dimensions of particles in the cloud, which is one of the essential. The latter device provides the ability to conduct scientific experiments and exploit it by creating a system for measuring and counting suspended particles in the cloud chamber and collecting data.
